Music Review! part 2

I sort of forgot about this so now I’m going to do what should have been done a few days ago and finish this review. One, two, three…here we go!

7. Summer Town - A really great upbeat song that sounds like a classic Third Eye Song but doesn’t resemble any other song. Although, I’m not really sure what it means to have a “whole life like a summer town”. Hmmm…more thought is needed.

8. Why Can’t You Be - A sad song talking about a relationship that doesn’t seem to be working. The title refers to things one wishes the other was more like. Its a deep song that clearly has a back story. Unlike “One in Ten”, the emotion is here.

9. Water Landing - I really like this song. Its that off-beat song you can always depend them to make. This song needs to be downloaded. The change from soft acoustic strumming to power chords grabs you and gets your head nodding. Do I feel a strong ending to the CD….?

10. Dao Of St. Paul - Another strong song that get lost in the CD. But you definitely remember the chorus: “Na-Na-Na-Na-Na”. The strong streak continues!

11. Monotov’s Private Opera - A simple song that has a very catchy chorus. This song is similar to “Motorcycle Drive By” and “God of Wine” without the upbeat chorus. I really like this song because it brings the album a near close, pulling the listener into the last song perfectly.

12. Carnival Barker - I promise you that you will never remember the title of this song. It will be simply called The Instrumental song at the end, and that is fine. The other thing you can always count on Third Eye Blind doing is producing a great instrumental song, ala “Slow Motion”. “Carnival Barker” is short but sweet and the bands creativity shines through here and close the album on a great note.

In review, this album is just what I was hoping for. Its very recognizably Third Eye Blind and while you don’t see very much progression with their music, that is fine because the music is great the way it is. Ursa Major should be picked up by any fan of the band and enjoyed. I certainly enjoyed it and will continue to do so.
